John Violis, age 89, died peacefully on March 8, 2023. John was born on June 20, 1933 in Queens, NY., the son of the late Peter and Jenny Violis.
He served in the Air Force in the Korean War in 1951.
He worked in sales for supermarket services for 18 years and owned Montrose Deli for 6 years then worked for 25 years for local 38 where he retired as a sheetmetal worker.
He was an amazing cook and had a love for sports and enjoyed spending his time gambling in the casinos.
John will be mourned by his wife Susan of 66 years of marriage and his children Grace and Michael and their spouses; granddaughter Nikki.

John was one of 5 siblings and is survived by his sister Helen.

May he rest in eternal peace.
