Lawrence C. Kerrigan

Lawrence C. Kerrigan

Lawrence C. Kerrigan, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away suddenly of heart failure on October 7, 2022. He was born December 23, 1948 in Aughrim, Ballinasloe, County Galway, Ireland, son of Lawrence Kerrigan and Mary Teresa Murray Kerrigan.
A longtime resident of New Rochelle, NY, Larry emigrated in 1969 from Ireland to join his true love and future wife, Mary “Maureen” Kerrigan who would predecease him. He is survived by his loving family including daughter Tanya Kerrigan Joyce and her husband Brian Joyce, daughter Tara Kerrigan Hayes, and daughter Angela Kerrigan, as well as his loving grandchildren Mason Joyce, Julia Joyce, Ava Joyce and Hudson Hayes. He is also survived by his tight knit, adoring siblings, Marion McLaughlin, Gerald Kerrigan, Sean Kerrigan, Una Waters, and Kathy McSweeney (predeceased). He will be sorely missed by his many relations in Galway Ireland, beloved extended family in New York and Manchester England, as well as innumerous friends far and wide.
Larry was a well-loved man, with the uncanny ability to make instant friends with every stranger who crossed his path with his jovial personality and friendly nature. He found great joy in life’s simplest pleasures and inherent love of people, maintaining an infectious positive attitude, with never a bad word to say about another.
A social man, Larry spent many years enjoying the hospitality of both tending bar and being a bar owner, where many patrons would become his lifelong friends throughout the years.
Larry cherished his family and enjoyed being outdoors, the ocean, music, and sports, sports, sports. He loved visiting his daughters in Boston and spending time with his grandchildren. His lovable personality will be long remembered by his countless friends and all who had the pleasure of sharing in his thoughtful conversation, perpetual laughter and laid back “happy as Larry” attitude towards life.
We will be celebrating Larry’s life and cheerful spirit with a Wake on Friday, October 14th from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Son’s Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl. New Rochelle, NY 10805 followed by a Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 15th at 10:30 am at Church of the Holy Family, 83 Clove Road, New Rochelle, New York 10801.
