John F. Strollo, Jr., a lifelong New Rochelle resident, died Sunday September 18th, 2022 at Northern Westchester Hospital of sudden cardiac arrest, he was 94.
He was born on January 7, 1928 to John F. Strollo, Sr. and Cecelia (Regan) Strollo of Acacia Terrace, New Rochelle.
John is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Patricia (Taylor) Strollo of New Rochelle. Survivors include his daughter Diane (Briganti) of Katonah, grandsons Joseph Briganti, great granddaughter Isabelle Briganti, Robert Briganti and David Briganti, his daughter Lynn Strollo of Denver, and son John Christopher Strollo of New Rochelle, granddaughter Leighann Strollo.
John attended Albert Leonard High School in New Rochelle until he joined the Navy in 1946. John served proudly in the United States Navy from the age of 18 as a Seaman Second Class in the Philippines for 2 years.
John and his family lived on Petersville Road in New Rochelle for over 50 years, and worked during that time for the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Elmsford. He was a Soda Distributor to part of the northern area of Westchester County and owned Strollo Beverage Distributors, Inc.
His family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, September 26th at Lloyd Maxcy Funeral Home, at 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle from 8:30 to 10:30 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
