Patrick “Pat” Mandarano

Patrick “Pat” Mandarano long time New Rochelle resident, went to heaven on June 9th, 2022 just shy of his 96th birthday. Pop Pop was born August 8th, 1926 in the “West” side of New Rochelle in a house on 123 Second Street to the late Vito and Carmela (Agresta) Mandarano. One of ten children; he would share stories of how much fun it was playing baseball with his brothers, sisters and cousins at the Boys Club and St. Joseph’s school. He then graduated from Isaac Young.
A huge Yankee fan, he would listen to games played with Ruth and Gehrig on the radio; when he was older he would go down to the stadium and watch the great teams of the 50’s. He always said Joe D was the best all around player he ever saw. Dad himself also played fast pitch softball in the 50’s for the Paris Shop Rouges with his brothers Tut and Johnny. They formed a formidable infield. A game he truly loved, he continued to play slow pitch softball into his sixties. He enjoyed Fats Domino music, cookouts at Army Football games and later sitting on his porch with Gia and then Johnny Cash, his favorite Maltese dogs.
He is survived by his sons Joseph (Jeanne), Robert (Kathleen) and daughter Mary Ann. Grandchildren Donna, Laura (Mark),Jackie (Damon), Victoria (Anthony) and Alexandra (Andrew). Great grand children Olivia, Kayleigh,Christian,Sophie and Andrew.
Also surviving is his brother John and sisters Frances and Marie.

Visiting hours will be Monday 4-8pm. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Tuesday 10:30am at Holy Family Church.
Interment will be private.
