Barbara Ann Quigley
April 5th, 1940-April 14th, 2022
Barbara Ann (Kellard) Quigley was called to God on April 14th, 2022. The daughter of Thomas Kellard and Helen Sabo Kellard, was born in New Rochelle, New York on April 5th, 1940. She attended Saint Gabriel’s elementary school and high school. Her earliest memories involved her father’s handy skills and her mother’s attention to detail and love. Following her graduation, she married Bill Quigley on September 9th, 1961. Barbara then went on to work in retail as well as banking. However, the job that gave her the most satisfaction was caring for her grandchildren.
Barbara was a beautiful, selfless, and kindhearted soul who loved her children and grandchildren more than life itself. Her greatest accomplishment was being a mother and grandmother. She had a passion for arts and crafts, sewing and had a meticulous knack for painting. Barbara was always up for a trip to check out a new store or take a drive and look at houses. Everything she did was completed with a sense of thoughtfulness and compassion, and of course a bit of humor. They say children and dogs are the best judges of character, this holds true for Barbara. Both animals and children were drawn to her loving and gentle spirit. Barbara also loved watching any professional sport and became so invested in the game. Barbara was religious and dedicated to her beliefs. She enjoyed volunteering her time, whether it be through the church or the local animal shelter.
Some of Barbara’s most famous sayings are “pour soul”, “waste not want not”, “always save for a rainy day”, “Jesus, Mary, and Joseph”, “You gotta do what you gotta do to get where you gotta go”, and “sweet Jesus”.
Survived by her husband, William Quigley, and her three children Barbara Ann (Maureen), Kathryn, Gregory (Dawn) and her life-partner, Robert Madden. Beloved Nan to her six grandchildren, Samantha, Thomas, Lexington, Tyler, Mckenzie, and Ava. In addition to her grandchildren, her grandpup’s also adored her, Rosie (Peach), Quincy and Norm.
