Richard Vincent Gotti

Richard Vincent Gotti

Richard Vincent Gotti passed away on January 4th, at the Veterans Home in Montrose NY. He was 93.
Born to Anna T. (McNamara) and Vincent F. Gotti on July 8, 1928 in New Rochelle, NY, he was the 2nd of 4 children. He attended Blessed Sacrament High School and worked as a Graphic Artist before joining the army in WWII, and later would serve again during the Korean War.
He married Elinor Rathyen in 1953, and moved to Dumont NJ, where he spent his adult life.
He retired from a career with Verizon and spent much of his retirement traveling, playing golf and exploring his talents in the visual arts. Later in life he met and fell in love with his long-time partner Diane Krakower. It was with Diane, and her family, that he lived life to its fullest.
He is predeceased by his parents, wife, and siblings: Joan (Joseph Kelly), Suzanne (William Asjes), and Helen (Frank Fodero).
He is survived by his partner Diane Krakower, her children and granddaughter—whom he loved as his own, and his many nieces and nephews in NY, Georgia, and Missouri.
He was an example to all who know life is to be lived to the fullest, and was so very grateful to all those who brought him immense joy this past holiday season, with over 600 Christmas cards and a Motorcycle Drive-by provided by the local chapters of Harley Davidson HOG from New Rochelle and the Hudson Valley, as well as the Westchester County Police Motorcycle Unit, Croton Fire Dept and Buchanan Police Dept.
He hoped to be able to thank each and every one of you.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 18, at 11:00 a.m.-12:00pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, New Rochelle, NY.
