Mary Ann Sears from Larchmont, New York passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the age of 92.
Born in New Rochelle, New York, she was the daughter of Walter and Josephine Fransioli Sears. She attended Blessed Sacrament Grammar School, St. Gabriel’s High School and graduated from Mary Mount College in New York City in 1951.
Mary Ann married Peter Prunty in 1998 who predeceased her in 2015. Mary Ann and Peter faithfully taught CCD together for years at St. John & Paul School. She was a parishioner of Saints John & Paul Church for many years. She was a kind and loving sister, wife, aunt, grand-aunt and great-grand aunt. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and their families.
She was a strong and independent woman who loved to travel Internationally as well as going into New York City and enjoying all that the City had to offer. She was proud of her career in Human Resources with The American Institute of CPAs in Manhattan, from which she retired in 1994.
Mary Ann is survived by her sister Joan Sears Straehle (George Straehle-predeceased) and five Nieces and Nephews – Paul (Debbie), Jean (Paolo), Don (Ann Marie), Kathy (Paul Clancy-predeceased), and Amy as well as her six Stepchildren – Maureen, Peter, Michele, Sharon, Timothy and Eileen. She is also survived by seven grand nephews and nieces and twelve great-grand nephews and nieces.
A wake will be held at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Funeral Home, 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle, NY on Thursday, November 18th. Hours of visitation will be from 4-7pm. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Friday, November 19th at Saints John & Paul Church, 280 Weaver Street, Larchmont, NY. The Funeral Mass will also be live streamed and can be viewed via this website: https://events.locallive.tv/events/65640. Mary Ann will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Queens, New York with her parents, Josephine and Walter Sears.
