Theresa “Terry” Spielmann from New Rochelle, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday October 20, 2021. She was 94 years old and always full of life. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
In 1927, she was born Theresa Ambroselli and grew up on Cambreleng Ave in the Arthur Ave section of the Bronx. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in the Bronx and after graduation, worked for the Herald Tribune. Shortly after World War II she married Robert Spielmann who she survived in 2002.
She started a family and was always looking to contribute by working various part-time jobs before joining Metropolitan Life as a clerk. She was quickly recognized for her amazing work ethic and great attitude which she used to rise from a “Clerk” to “Office Manager.” She did this while balancing a challenging schedule as a mom, cheerleader, commuter, and exquisite cook and housekeeper. She was a great mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many.
In the last years of her life, she spent her time reading, watching her favorite TV shows, and more importantly being a beacon of light and joy to her friends and family. She was witty, had a great sense of humor and compassion for everyone.
She is survived and will always be loved by Karen Vanzo, Daughter, Craig Spielmann, Son, Sally Spielmann, Daughter-in-law, Matthew Vanzo, Grandson, Eric Spielmann, Grandson, Anna-Lisa Vanzo, Granddaughter-in Law and Ben Vanzo, Great Grandson.
