Roger Angelo Fanelli, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, passed away on September 30, 2021. He was 70 years old and lived most recently in Mamaroneck, NY. Roger was born on July 11, 1951 in New York City to Emanuele and Elide Fanelli (Chiucchiu). Roger and his younger brother Mario spent their childhood years living in both Manhattan and in Senigallia, Italy, where their parents were from. After their parent’s passing in their teenage years, Roger lived and worked in New York City where he later met his former wife, Laura Garrett. Roger’s legacy is his two daughters, Christina Mitchell and Nicole Fanelli and his two granddaughters Liliana Mitchell and Evelyn Mitchell. His third grandchild, a boy is due to his daughter Nicole in January. Roger’s life was not without struggles; however, he was a kind and compassionate man, a free spirit who was a people person, full of life, charismatic and had a keen sense of humor. His greatest joy was his daughter’s accomplishments and his sense of pride was shared with anyone who would listen. Roger passed away after a difficult battle with cancer. Visiting hours are Sunday, October 3 from 3:00-7:00pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Place in New Rochelle, NY. The funeral mass will take place at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 70 Petersville Road, New Rochelle at 10:30am on Monday, October 4, 2021.
