Marie G. Quaranta

Marie G. Quaranta

Marie G. (Colantuoni) Quaranta passed away in the evening of Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at the age of 94, in Stamford, CT.

Born in Brooklyn NY, she was the daughter of Faust and Assunta Colantuoni. She graduated from Lafayette High School in Brooklyn. After moving to New Rochelle, she met, dated, and married Romeo Quaranta. Marie and Romeo were married for 69 years.

Marie was a kind and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. A matriarch that was all about family and so very proud of it. She will be truly missed by all.

Marie was an avid gardener with an amazing “green thumb” and loved to share the “fruits” of her labor with her family and friends. She loved to sew and often designed her own clothing; creative and talented she made many outfits for herself and her children.

Marie loved to cook and bake pies with her family. Marie’s kitchen was always filled with family, great food, and bit of chaos with her large family as it grew bigger and bigger, and nothing made her happier than to be surrounded by her family and loved ones. Marie’s home was often a gathering spot during the holidays, friends dropped in at “229” and she made room in her home and in her heart for everyone.

In addition to Marie’s love for her family and friends, and her passion for gardening, sewing, and cooking, she was also very proud of Romeo’s work at CBS and the many nationally televised broadcasts with which he was associated. Some of her fondest memories included Tennis at the US Open, Thoroughbred Racing and Golf, especially “The Masters”.

Marie is pre-deceased by her husband Romeo, her father Faust Colantuoni, her mother Assunta Colantuoni, her brother, Faust (Jr.), wife Eileen and nephew Tommy.

She is survived by her, five children: Arthur (Eileen), Castle Hayne, NC; Robert (Susan), Wilton, CT; Ann Marie (Don), Stamford CT; Diane (Bill), Bethlehem, PA; Nancy (Stephen), Rye, NY. Fifteen grandchildren: Marissa (Rachel); Luke (Joan), Daniel (Heather), Kate (Ruben), Tommy, Matt (Salay), Joe, Nick (Marie), Alison (Dave), Nicole (Wyatt), Billy (Michelle), Bridgette, Kelly, Sean, Kaitlyn. Fourteen great-grandchildren: Simone, Ciel, Talia, Naomi, Benicio, Marija, Leo, Franco, Luke, Elaina, Michela, Charlotte, Nico, Connor, nieces: Barbara, Janet, Patty, Ginny, Roseanne, Laurie, and nephews: Billy, Bobby, and all their families.
