Maria Elena Stiso, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, NY passed away on July 5, 2021. She was 85 years old. Maria was born on January 4, 1936 in Andretta, Italy to the late Giuseppina Scarano (Miele) and Nicola Scarano. Maria came to the United States in 1955. Maria was blessed with 58 years of marriage to her wonderful husband Vittorio Stiso (deceased). Maria is survived by her cherished son Pasquale Stiso her beloved daughter, Annette Stiso, her loving daughter-in-law Maria Stiso, her “forever” son-in-law Anthony D’Angelo (Marcela) and her grandchildren; Daniela Gilhuly (Michael), Pasquale Stiso Jr. (Mandy), Anthony D’Angelo (Stephanie), Stephen D’Angelo and Andrea Restrepo. Maria’s most prized possessions are her great-granddaughters Mia Grace & Elena Belle Gilhuly & the soon to arrive Della D’Angelo.
FAMILY was the heart and soul of Maria’s existence. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her family, friends and even strangers. She was a kind soul that was always willing to help. Maria was an outstanding cook and expressed her love of family by hosting many holidays and gatherings. Her Sunday dinner tradition will be carried on by her children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Place New Rochelle, New York 10805 on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 2:00 PM – 8:00PM. A funeral mass will take place on Friday 10:30 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church.
