Anne Cosgrove

Anne Cosgrove

Anne Cosgrove (1 Aug 1929 – 4 July 2021)
Born and raised in Dublin (northside), Ireland, Anne lived for many years in London and Dublin before relocating to New Rochelle, NY in retirement to be with her family.
Anne was blessed with 56 years of marriage to her wonderful husband Francis Cosgrove, Jr. (deceased). Anne was a wonderful, kind, thoughtful woman who loved spending time with her family. She told many stories about her life growing up in a family of nine siblings on Dublin’s northside. As a young woman, she moved to England with her sister Lily where she met and married her husband Frank Cosgrove, Jr.. Anne and Frank lived in London for over 20 years before returning to Dublin. In England, she had lovely times with her family – sisters Peggy & husband Padraig (London), Essie (deceased), Lily (Birmingham), Mary (deceased) & husband Larry (London). In Dublin, she told of lovely memories with her sister Kathleen and brothers Richie (deceased.), Jack (deceased) and Paddy. She was employed for many years at St. Bricin’s Military hospital and nursing home in Dublin.
She immigrated to NY with Frank (he was a US citizen) following her daughters in the early 1990’s, but never lost her Irish and English roots. She loved the summer and would like to go on holidays to Fort Lauderdale, the Jersey shore, Cape Cod and Montauk, enjoying beach days with her family. She also loved a good musical show, especially cabarets!
She is survived by her children Rosaline Cosgrove of CT, Mary Josephine Del Aguila of NY and Anthony Power of London, her son-in-law’s Ronnie Giordano and Carlos Del Aguila. Her six grandchildren Aisling, Sean and Fionnuala Murray (& Victor), Carlos Jr. Del Aguila, Tammy Applebee, Alison Power and six great-grandchildren (Samantha, Sariah and Kaeo).
She is also survived by siblings in England (Lily Warner, Peggy & Padraig Brennan & Larry Bruce) and Ireland (Kathleen McDonnell, Paddy & Pattie Power) as well as one sister-in-law Kathleen Fitzgerald (NY).
Anne lived with Josie, Carlos and Carlos Jr., so it is fitting that at the great age of 91 she passed away peacefully in the presence of her daughter Josie and grandson Carlos, Jr. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc. 16 Shea Pl. New Rochelle, NY 10805. A funeral Mass will take place on Saturday 9:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at Gate of heaven Cemetery
