Mayessa Militante Reyes, a wife, mother, private duty nurse, and longtime resident of New Rochelle, NY died unexpectedly on June 20, 2021. It was her 51st birthday.
Mayessa is survived by her husband, Rogener Reyes; her children, Micah, Rad, and Kyna Reyes; and her sisters, Mangeline Militante Soares, Marlet Militante, and Marichu Militante. She is predeceased by her parents, Ruben Militante and Erlinda Enteria Militante.
Mayessa was born in Quezon, Quezon, Philippines on June 20, 1970 to the late Ruben and Erlinda Militante. She graduated from Sacred Heart College in the Philippines with a BSN in Nursing. On February 18, 1994, she married Rogener Reyes, her classmate and the love of her life, in Calamba, Laguna, Philippines. She later had a church wedding in Ericeira, Portugal in April 2004. On March 16, 1995, March 7, 1996, and May 21, 1998 respectively, she and Rogener welcomed their three beautiful children, Micah, Rad, and Kyna. Mayessa’s family was the most important part of her life.
Mayessa was a devoted mother and meticulous nurse. She loved everyone in her family deeply, took great care of all of her patients, and admired all of the doctors with whom she worked. In the past few years of her life, Mayessa dedicated her life to her passion project: building a luxury resort on the island of Gumubat, Quezon, Philippines. She inherited the land from her parents and wanted to honor their memory by building a beautiful place by the shore. She envisioned a luxurious, environmentally-friendly vacation spot surrounded by nature. Mayessa was extremely diligent and hard working, managing her nursing role alongside working on her dream resort.
Mayessa loved doing yoga and pilates, traveling to new countries, and watching new shows with her family. She loved to make people smile and laugh. Mayessa lived a beautiful life, shining a positive light on anyone she met. She is a loving, sweet soul. She was a one-of-a-kind woman who touched the lives of many.
Visiting hours will be hours will be Thursday, June 24th and Friday, June 25th, both at 5⁠–8 p.m. in the Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc., 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle, NY. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, June 25th at 10:30 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will be private. Flowers, donations, and condolences may be offered.
