Joseph (JoJo) Ramunto, a life long resident of New Rochelle died on April 7, 2021 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Joe was born 62 years ago to Laura (Caruso) and Clarence Ramunto.
He is survived by brothers Carmine and Thomas (Tang), sisters-in-law Donna and Linda, nieces Dina, Lauren and Andrea, nephew Nicholas (Stephanie) and grand-nephew Nicholas as well as many cherished cousins and friends.
Joe met his beloved Diane Daniels in highschool and they remained devoted life long partners until he passed.
Joe attended Blessed Sacrament High School and Iona College and was an accomplished athlete. He will be best remembered by many as a legendary bartender, manager and owner of various New Rochelle establishments from the late 1970’s until the time of his death. Joe encountered and met thousands of people and with his infectious smile and sense of humor left a lasting impression on all he met. He was best known for his generosity, dry wit, and contagious personality. Joe enjoyed the beach, outdoor activities and relaxing in the sun at Cameron’s Dock with friends.
He was dedicated to family and friends and enjoyed gathering with them on all occasions.
Joe Ramunto was an original New Rochellean who will be sorely missed and remembered by the many he loved.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 2pm-8pm at Sisto & Paino, Inc., 16 Shea Pl., New Rochelle, NY. A funeral mass will be on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 10:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery.
