James N. Vietro

James N. Vietro

James N. Vietro, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle died on December 15, 2020 at the age of 70.
James was born on July 21, 1950 in New Rochelle to the late James and Margaret (Powell) Vietro. Jim was a dedicated lifelong resident of New Rochelle having established many friendships which he treasured. He attended the New Rochelle schools as well as Sullivan Community College. A carpenter by profession, he was a vocal voice in the Carpenters Union of Westchester County and NorthEast. Jim definitely had the “gift for gab” and enjoyed conversations with everyone about any subject. He was known for his voice on social media and was quick to respond to injustices as he saw them. A car racing enthusiast, many an hour was spent watching Indy, NASCAR and Formula 1 races. A lover of the ocean he was an accomplished swimmer. In the last few years, he was able to realize a dream by having a second home by the ocean in North Carolina. There, when not working on the house, he loved going to the beach, the relaxed lifestyle and being content gazing at the sunsets.
Survived by his wife of almost 48 years Carol Vietro (Guiliano), daughter Melissa and husband Jeremy McFarland of North Carolina, daughter Rebecca Vietro-Martin of North Carolina, and son Matthew Vietro of New Rochelle, along with siblings Catherine Vietro-Corrado & John Corrado of New Rochelle and Arthur Vietro and Wayne Vorpahl of White Plains.
He also has four loving grandchildren Aliyah, Madalyn, Julian, and Gabriel Bastarrechea of North Carolina.
He was predeceased by his parents and his aunt Florence Vietro.
