Thomas Serraino passed away peacefully on October 1st, 2020. He was born in Sciara, Sicily on November 26th, 1935 to the late Filippo and Castenza (nee Mendola) Serraino. He emigrated to New York with his family when he was 11 years old. He graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1953. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as a Military Police Officer during the Cold War. He worked for many years as a service mechanic for a local oil company and later at the Home Depot.
He was predeceased by his older brother, Amedeo Serraino and his younger sister, Rosalie Lore. He is survived by his dedicated and loving wife of 44 years, Sharon (nee Petersen) and his former wife Carol McIver (nee Vergara). He was a loving father to their combined seven children, Susan (Michael) Silverstein, Linda (Anthony) Lore, Sandi (Michael) Murray, Marybeth (Doug) Rose, Mia (Tezrah) Serraino, John (Marylou) Cesario and Kris (Jeff) Molinari. He was also blessed to have eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was creative and enjoyed finding unusual solutions to everyday problems. There was nothing he could not build or fix and was always everyone’s first phone call when something broke. He loved the Yankees and the Knicks, family card games on Sundays and being outside. He will be loved and remembered always.
Visitation will be Tuesday 4-8pm with a service Wednesday 11am in the funeral chapel. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery
