Lucille M. Wojciechowski, a 45-year resident of New Rochelle, NY passed away on July 3, 2020 at the age of 104.
Lucille was born in Bronx, NY on December 13th, 1915 to her parents, Maria and Ludwig Wojtusiak. She began her working career as a secretary, model, and housewife. Her teacher’s assistant position at Mt Tom Day School (New Rochelle) blossomed into a 45-year occupation and earned her title of Music Director. Lucille played the piano since the age of 7 and often played for friends, family and various organizations. Lucille loved the company of happy people and adored music. She was also a member of the New Rochelle Catholic Women’s Club.
Lucille is survived by her 3 children: Marcella (James) Strutt, Stanley Wojciechowski and Paul Wojciechowski, as well as 6 grandchildren: Christopher Strutt, Michelle Mercier, Andréa Strutt, Yvonne Ferro, Joseph Wojciechowski, Michael Wojciechowski and 7 great grandchildren.
Lucille’s husband of 49 years, Joseph, passed in 1987. Her sister, Regina, passed in 1951 and brother, George, in 1974.
Donations: For almost 50 years, Lucille shared her love of music with generations of students at Mt. Tom Day School. To continue her legacy and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in honor of Lucille are sent to Mt. Tom Day School. The funds will be used to provide programs that foster a love of music in her memory.
