John Griffo, a long-time resident of New Rochelle, NY, passed away on July 7, 2020 at the age of 84. He was born to Giuseppe and Anna Griffo in Stefanaconi, Calabria, Italy on June 23, 1936. He was retired after many years working for the Department of Public Works of Pelham Manor. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Antonina, ‘Nina’, in 2017. Surviving him are his loving children, Joseph Griffo, Annette Scarfone (Santo), and Lisa Amendola. He was also the adoring grandfather of Danielle, Kristin, Justin, and Casey. John was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend and his memory will be eternally cherished.
Visitation (following social distancing COVID guidelines) will be on Thursday, July 9, from 4-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons, 16 Shea Place New Rochelle, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, New Rochelle on Friday, July 10, at 10:30 am. Internment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Rye, NY.
