Regina Zarrilli

regina zarrilli obituary

Regina Zarrilli, age 96, passed peacefully on April 15, 2020. She was born on July 15, 1923 in Eighmy Run,  Pennsylvania but was a longtime resident of New Rochelle, NY and Jupiter, Florida.
As a young child, Regina cultivated a strong work ethic and devotion to her family. She enjoyed going to work  with her father and she loved attending school. She graduated New Rochelle High School and Secretarial School,  where she secured an executive secretarial position in NYC. In later years, she was the Administrative Assistant  to three New Rochelle Mayors, and two New Rochelle Hospital presidents. On weekends, she worked with her  husband at Redwood Nursery in Larchmont which they owned and operated for 50 years. Her creativity was  evident, especially during the Christmas season. She decorated wreaths, hand-made bows and created floral  arrangements. Regina took great pride in her work.
Regina, our “Mom” and “Nanny Ree” was devoted to her family. She loved hosting family parties and preparing  delicious home cooked meals for her children and grandchildren. She always put the needs of others before her  own. She was known for her love and generosity to her many life-long friends and family. She was especially  known for her boundless energy.
Regina is pre-deceased by her loving husband, Biagio (Ben) Zarrilli, mother Carmella Contrata, father Ralph  Scarinzi, sister Mary Salerno, brother Ralph Scarinzi and son-in-law Michael Garcia.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Regina (Charles) Immucci, Maria (Michael) Garcia, Carol (Kenneth) Ciardullo.  Also, her beloved grandchildren, Christine (Andy) Mercier, Victoria (Troy) Tait, Gina (Josh) Gaccione, Karen
(Bator) Kovacs, Michael Garcia Jr., Elizabeth (Gregg) Tatarka, Benjamin (Cristy) Garcia, Carolyn (Alex) Scibelli,  Kenneth (Loren) Ciardullo and Briana Ciardullo. She was also cherished by her 13 great-grandchildren.
Due to current circumstances, services will be private and a Memorial mass will be organized at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the following would be most appreciated: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital,  a charity chosen for her love of children.
Regina’s greatest joy was being with her beautiful family. We will cherish our memories with her and we take  great comfort in knowing that she is at peace with her beloved husband.
