Kathryn M. Codella, 91, of New Rochelle, passed away April 3, 2020, at United Hebrew Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born to the late Henry Camardella and Margaret Abate on August 24th, 1928, in New Rochelle. She married the love of her life, the late James Codella on August 26th, 1951, at Holy Family Church. Kathryn is survived by her beloved sons: Jim (Margie) Codella, of New Rochelle and Gary (Doreen) Codella, of Pelham. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Jimmy, Craig, Stephen and Eric. Kathryn was predeceased by her loving husband in 2010 and her siblings Nicoletta Giustino, Assunta Italiano, Carmela Rosamonda, Gloria Panico and Henry Camardella. She leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Kathryn was affectionally known as Babe to all who knew her. She was a sharp bookkeeper for many years at her father’s business, Rose Hill Nurseries, and as a Unit Clerk at New Rochelle Hospital after having her family. She was expert at crocheting, having made a beautiful baby blanket for every child born into the Codella clan. She loved Bingo and playing cards, teaching all of her grandsons to be gin rummy experts. But most of all she loved family and the many gatherings held in the Garage behind her home.
Viewing services will be private for immediate family members only on Monday, April 6, 2020 at Lloyd Maxcy Funeral Home with private burial immediately following at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
As visiting services are not public, the family requests that people visit lloydmaxcy.com to see pictures of Babe and leave notes of remembrance and condolence as they choose.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at a later date for all to celebrate and honor Babe’s life.
