Ralph Pasacrita passed away on February 21, 2020. Born May 12, 1925 in New Rochelle, NY to the late Abraham and Mary (D’Onofrio) Pasacrita, he will be reunited with his beloved Gerda, the love of his life. Ralph will live on in the hearts of his brothers Walter Pasacrita of South Plainfield NJ and Robert Pasacrita of New Rochelle, NY; his three loving children Ralph (Debbie) Pasacrita, Lynda Leva, and Stephen (Fedra) Pasacrita; his adoring grandchildren Lana Pompi, Michael (Dianne) Pasacrita, John Leva, Gregory Pasacrita, & Amalia Pasacrita, and his great grandchildren Leah, Natalie, Hailey, Nicole and Vincent.
Ralph grew up in New Rochelle, attended New Rochelle public schools, and raised his family in Mamaroneck, NY. Ralph and Gerda found their greatest joy spending time with their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his cherished cousin, June Ann (John) Segreto. He was a very loyal friend, who greatly missed his life-long pals at the Bonefro club. Ralph was an excellent golfer, loved photography & woodworking, grew beautiful roses, and his homegrown tomatoes were the best.
Forever proud of his service to his country, Ralph reported for Army duty in 1943. He enjoyed entertaining friends and family with stories about basic training, but only occasionally shared the true realities of having served in General Patton’s Third Army, particularly the horrors encountered at the liberation of Dachau. He was most certainly watched over by God throughout his life, and he brought a smile to everyone he met.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 24 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Funeral Home. Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church on Tuesday, February 25 at 10:30 am, with internment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
