Gregory Croston, a Pelham Manor, NY resident for over 50 years, passed away peacefully on January 10th at the age of 82. Greg was born in 1937 in New Rochelle, NY to the late Anne Morse and Harlan Croston. A graduate of Iona College, he spent most of his career working as an accountant for Donald Art, Co., eventually rising to the position of CEO. He later started a new venture, Manor Art, Inc., where he worked until his retirement in 2007.
A former Army Reservist and President of the Rotary Club of Port Chester, Greg enjoyed watching both the Red Sox and the Mets, reading the latest best-sellers and ushering at OLPH Church. His real passion though, was spending time with his children and grandchildren and he could often be found cheering them on from the stands at one of their games. A true gentle soul with a great wit and sense of style, he will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched.
Greg is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Eileen, children Kathi (Mike) of Mountainside, New Jersey; Eileen (Steve) of Wappingers Falls, NY; Nancy of NY, NY; Tim (Dor) of Charlotte, North Carolina, sister Nancy (Richard) Day of Wilmington, DE. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; Danny, Stephen, Nicky, Connor, Kelly, Matthew, Olivia, Tommy, Meghan, Charlie and many more nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Anne Morse, stepfather George Morse and his brother Harlan Croston.
Visitation will be held at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel in New Rochelle on Friday from 3-7pm. Mass will be Saturday at 9:30am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Pelham. Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery.
