Louis J. Semenza

Louis J. Semenza, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died on October 17, 2019. He was 87.
Louis was born on November 20, 1931 in New Rochelle to the late Louis and Gertrude (Codella) Semenza.
He is survived by his wife, the former Josephine Mormino whom he married on April 28, 1957; his children Susan (Michael) Jensen, Anthony Semenza and Paul Semenza; his 6 grandchildren: Michael, Ryan, Lauren, Anthony, Christopher and Luke and his beloved cousins Charles and Robert Semenza. He was predeceased by his son Louis and his brother Ronald. His family was his biggest pride and joy and he was the best example of a kind and loving man.
Lou worked for many years in advertising sales. He served in the Air Force and was active in the local New Rochelle community at both St. Joseph’s Parish and the Feeney Park Boys and Girls Club. Lou was inducted into the Boys Clubs of America Inspiration Hall of Fame for personal achievement and dedication in the service of youth.
He was a star high school athlete at Isaac E. Young who lettered in 3 sports-football, baseball and basketball. He was recruited to play basketball by Curry College in Massachusetts.
Visiting hours will be Sunday 4-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy and Sons Beauchamp Chapel, Inc., 16 Shea Pl., New Rochelle. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday 10:30am at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Hospital at
