Catherine A. Girardi, a longtime resident of New Rochelle died on September 25, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 87. Catherine was born in Hollywood, CA on December 6, 1931 to the late Adam John Morguson and Angela Verducci.

She attended Blessed Sacrament grammar school and St. Gabriel’s high school. She met her husband, the late Bernard “Dino” Girardi when they were teenagers, not knowing they would be married in their 20’s. They were married for over 50 years.

She was the secretary of the housekeeping and maintenance department for over 25 years at the College of New Rochelle and was fondly referred to as “Cathy” by her coworkers.

She loved life, nature, and music. She was an accomplished pianist in her early years, and would have gone on to study at the conservatory had it not been for her father’s death when she was only 17, forcing her to seek work. She loved classical music opera especially, and would often be in attendance at the MET or Saturday afternoon at the opera.

Catherine is survived by her daughter’s Valerie Girardi, Andrea Rogati, son-in-law Ronald Rogati and granddaughter Candace Rogati.

Condolences will be Thursday October 3, at 9am OLPH Church.
