Bruce Mitcheltree, 75, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 at the White Plains Hospital after his battle with cancer.
He is predeceased by his life partner and great love, Kathleen Carello, his brother John and sister Patricia, and survived by his step-children Ann Freeman (Michael), Elena Tateo (Danny), John Carello (Denise), Joseph Carello (Carolyn), James Carello (Lena), sister Ann Meara (Ned), 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Born in Yonkers and raised in Crestwood, he spent his adult life residing in New Rochelle. He was the son of Robert Wood Mitcheltree and Marianne Fulton.
For most of his career, Bruce was the owner of Beechmont Bus Company, which he owned and operated for over 30 years. He employed hundreds of people over the course of his career and was beloved by those he worked with. Besides his love for Kathleen, he had a passion for family, fishing and his cats. He enjoyed country music and spending summers with his family in Montauk. Anyone who knew Bruce, knew he was “the Best!”. He will be missed terribly by those who love him.
Services will be held Friday, June 14 at the Lloyd Maxcy Funeral Home, 4-7pm. There will be a prayer service held at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to kindly consider making a donation to Butterflies for Jodie (New Rochelle) or the New Rochelle Humane Society.
