Anna Maria (Carinci) Senno, died on May 16, 2019, peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. Anna was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on November 17, 1929, to parents Salvatore and Louisa (Guerrini).
Anna was affectionately called “Chicken” due to her being younger than most of her friends. In school, she developed her love for music, as a trumpet player. She was the Editor-in-Chief of the school paper, in the Thespian Society, a cheerleader and voted Prom Queen of Edison Technical High School where she graduated in 1947.
She met her husband, Joseph Senno, Jr., while in high school and in 1948 they were married at Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Vernon.
They had five children: Jane Fuentes (Jose), Diane, Henry (Ingrid), John (Cindy) and Michael. The family moved to New Rochelle in 1959. Anna and Joseph legally separated in 1978, yet remained friends.
Anna worked for over 25 years at Cambridge University Press as a Customer Service Manager. After her retirement, she moved to Yorktown Heights, NY. In 2012, Anna moved back to New Rochelle to be closer to family.
Anna loved spending time with family and her friends. Her many interests including baking, traveling, swimming, dancing and reading fiction. She was also a master of sewing, knitting and crocheting.
In approximately 2009, she started suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
She is survived by her five children, sister Nancy DeSantis, brother Joseph Carinci (Lois) and three grandchildren: Joseph, Janelle and Brenna. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph and her son-in-law Jose.
She will be remembered for her generosity, resourcefulness and buoyant sense of humor.
Visiting hours will be Saturday 3-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc., 16 Shea Pl., New Rochelle. Interment will be Private.
