Teresa M. Chiacchia, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died, Friday, April 5. She was 82.
Teresa was born in the Bronx, October 2, 1936 at the Bronx Maternity Hospital to the late Mary Louise (DePaul of Port Chester) and Frank La Sala of the Bronx. She attended St. Barnabus and graduated Sacred Heart Academy in Yonkers. She was married to Samuel J. Chiacchia until his passing in 1996. A resident of Woodlawn and Belle Air Bluff Florida, until Sam’s death when she came back to New York to her extended family to which she dedicated her life. She is pre-deceased by her brothers Frank La Sala and Andy La Sala. She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins in Westchester County. She will be most remembered for her love of family and friends and intense desire to see them all fed.
Visiting will be on Monday 4-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, Inc., 16 Shea Pl., New Rochelle. Mass scheduled for Tuesday 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
