Headley Reid

Headley George Reid, 87, passed away peacefully with the prayers and presence of loved ones at his bedside in his final hours. An immigrant from Jamaica, Headley came to the United States in the early 1960s with his wife-to-be to fulfill their dreams together. A man of many talents, he earned his degrees (Bachelor and Masters in Engineering) from City University of New York while raising his family and working. As an electrical engineer, Headley helped lead and manage major groundbreaking projects (e.g., Marcy-South, Upstate New York and Long Island Sound Project, New York Power Authority) to deliver power to the Empire State in which he resided. Headley was also instrumental in pivotal international projects in Europe and Asia. He received many awards in recognition of his outstanding work and dedication to his profession. He eventually retired as a Senior Electrical Engineer/Project Manager from New York Power Authority in 1997. Headley was a dedicated Christian and, over the years, served in several roles in the church, from choir to elder. Headley had many varied interests, from golf, classical music, to capital markets. Headley is survived by his lovely wife of 56 years, Muriel Reid, his two children, Robyn and Russell Reid, daughter-in-law Iris Seitz, and his grandchildren, Caleb Reid, Raven Reid, Sommer Reid-Seitz and Remi Seitz-Reid. Headley was laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bronx, New York.
