Sue Ritacco

Assunta, affectionately known as Sue Ritacco, age 94, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 21, 2019. She was a life long resident of New Rochelle, daughter of Aristide and Rosalba DiBiasi Pellegrini, and the oldest of three girls. Sue was an active participant in the Women’s Club and a faithful volunteer every election day at the polls. Her true passion and her greatest joy was her family. Her delicious food and warm welcome made it easy to bring and +6keep everyone together. She was predeceased by her husband Franklin, of 59 years. Survivors include her 5 children: George (Eileen) Ritacco, Roslyn (Brian) Durkin, Edward (Gail) Ritacco, Franklin (Lucia) Ritacco and Lori (Gary) D’Adamo, grandchildren George (Jessica) and Steven (Laura) Ritacco, Brian (Lisa) Durkin, Lauren (Trevor) Patterson, Mark (Jaime) and Allison Ritacco, Paul (Chelsea) and Laura Ritacco and Jenna and Joseph D’Adamo, 9 great-grandchildren, her brother-in-law Nicholas D’Arpino and all her nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Helen D’Arpino and Jean Romano. Friends may greet the family Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 9:15 – 11:00AM at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Funeral Home, 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle, NY, followed by an 11:30 mass at St. Gabriel’s Church, 120 Division St. In lieu of flowers, friends may consider a donation in Sue’s memory to North East Westchester Special Recreation.
