Mary (Marie) Correale, beloved wife of the late Pasquale Correale, died at her home in New Rochelle on March 4. She was 96 years-old. Mary was the eldest of four daughters born to the late Rose and Alphonse Greco. She grew up and lived most of her life in the Pelham Bay section of the Bronx. Prior to the birth of her four children, Mary worked at McGraw-Hill; later in life she returned to work, starting a career as a well-respected secretary/administrative assistant at several Wall Street firms, where she made a number of lifelong friends.
Mary is survived by her children, Paul Correale (Paula), Rosemary Hawkins (Gerry), Richard Correale, and Michael Correale (Donna). She is also survived by her sisters Elinor Torelli and Gloria Greco, as well as grandchildren Christopher Correale, Christina Hawkins (Hector Martinez), Stefanie DeMattia (Christopher), Danielle Andrews (Matthew), Michael Correale, and six great grandchildren.
Mary was predeceased by her grandson Matthew Correale and her sister Sylvia Curtin.
She was lovingly cared for by Lia Kiladze for several years.
Visitation will be at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons, 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle 10801 on Wednesday, March 6, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Theresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 2855 St. Theresa Avenue, Bronx 10461 on Thursday, March 7 at 11am. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
