Rosario “Ross” Rondinelli, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, passed away on January 10, 2019. He was 91.
Ross was born on December 3, 1927 in Francavilla Angitola (Catanzaro), Italy to the late Antonio and Teresina (Niesi) Rondinelli and came to the United States with his family on October 12, 1939. He served in the United States Army Signal Corps in Germany for two years. Ross was the proprietor of Telerama Television, which he opened in 1956 and continued to operate, along with his son Tony, for over 62 years. Ross was an avid gardener and photographer. His passion for 3-D photography was well known to family and friends. In his later years, Ross became an accomplished cook and baker. His dedication to the Catholic faith and his participation in the Holy Name Society and various church activities were an important part of his life and will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his wife Alice (Satiro) of 60 years; his children Linda (Brian Fitzgerald) of East Brunswick, New Jersey, Suzanne Rondinelli Foerst (William Jr) of New Fairfield, Connecticut, and Tony of New Rochelle; his beloved grandchildren Natalie Rondinelli Danna, Jonathan Rondinelli Fitzgerald and Greyson Ross Rondinelli Foerst. He is also survived by his sister Concetta (Connie) Gotsch, and his brothers Joseph and Frank and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, January 15 from 4-8 at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle, NY. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday, January 16 at 10 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Pelham Manor, NY. Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery.
