Joseph Martin Efferen, Sr., a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died on January 31, 2019. He was 88.
Joseph was born on January 5, 1931 in New Rochelle to the late Gustave and Lillian (Martin) Efferen.
He served in the Marines during the Korean War and was a Boy Scout leader, Troop and Pack 20, New Rochelle for many years.
He was predeceased by his wife the former Doris Gregson.
He is survived by his children Joseph M. (Deborah) Efferen, Jr., John Efferen, Dr. Linda (Christopher Deeg PhD) Efferen, Robert (Debra) Efferen and Ann Marie (Howard) Russo; his 9 grandchildren; his 4 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be Sunday 1-5pm and Monday 10am -12noon at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle where a funeral service will take place Monday 12 noon Interment will be private.
