Susan Choolfaian died December 5, 2018 at United Hebrew Home in New Rochelle, NY after a long battle with dementia. She was a devoted wife to her husband Jack Choolfaian for 33 years. She is survived by her two sons Gary and Steven, her granddaughter Jennifer Lee Ayvaz and husband Matthew, and great grandson Jackson Terry. She is also survived by sisters Frances Curci and Marion Melende.
Susan was born August 15, 1928 in the Bronx, New York. She was the seventh child of Dominic and Mary Gallelo and attended PS12 school.
Susan enjoyed a long and blessed life along with her six loving sisters and two brothers. She also cherished her many loving nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking and developing a wide variety of cultural and secret family dishes. She created a beautiful and warm home through meticulous attentiveness to detail. Loving memories of all that she has done for her loved ones will keep her close to our hearts.
Visitation will be held on Friday December 7th from 2-4pm and 7-9 pm at Llyod Maxcy Funeral Home in New Rochelle, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday December 8th at 9:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle, NY. Burial services to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, New York.
