Robert Andrew Hopkins, 49, beloved husband of Una, father of R. Connor and Caitlyn, was called to his eternal rest suddenly on Saturday June 23, 2018. Bob lived life to the fullest, never taking any moment of joy for granted. Whether it be dancing with the love of his life, having THE perfect tee time, savoring a fine wine, or enjoying the wind blowing through his hair in his sports car, he embraced and cherished every day.
Bob was an instrumental part of the IBM Account Team at American Express since 2002 when he came over to IBM as part of our premier out-tasking contract (Pueblo) with American Express, where Bob was a former Vice President of Service Management. Since joining IBM, Bob held several leadership roles within Global Technology Services, where he began as Delivery Project Executive for the End User Computing and Network Services Tower and later as Project Executive for overseeing the many service product lines. In 2010, Bob joined Global Markets to carry forward a business development role managing across key Line of Business areas as well as the key technology functions. Bob was promoted to Vice President and Sr. Project Executive for one of IBM’s largest Services Clients. He attended Iona College and Archbishop Stepinac High School.
He was an avid golfer and member of Pelham Country Club and proudly shared his “hole in one” story to all who would listen. Bob will be remembered as a connoisseur of fine wine and was known to pour a perfect glass at “The Bar @ Bob and Una’s” where “Red Brush” was always in attendance. He had an open-door policy, where friends and family alike were known to enjoy the outdoor living space he worked diligently to perfect, complete with a Rose Garden for his wife.
In addition to his beautiful family, Bob is survived by his mother, Joan Hopkins, brothers and sister Rich, Peg, Jim, Ed, Bill and Gene; and their respective spouses: Claudia, John, Daria, Amy, Denise, and Meghan; mother-in-law Liz O’Connell, sisters-in-law Kim and Olivia, brother-in-law Jonny and many nieces and nephews: Ashley, Kathleen, Kris, Kim, Kyle, Kevin, John, Amanda, Jen, Pam, Danielle, Briana, Declan, Ali, Megan, Emily, Taylor, Jack, Mary Kate, Tim, Molina, Alisha, Xyerra and great niece Lilly.
