Heaven gained another angel on Saturday, April 7, 2018. Alice (Hansen) Caputo, 81, is predeceased by her loving husband Louis Caputo, Sr. Alice is survived by her three children Louis (Susan) Caputo of New Rochelle, NY, Rosemarie (Joseph) Renda of Apopka, FL, and Frank (Laura) Caputo of PBG, FL; her fourteen grandchildren: Jennifer, Joseph (Nicole), Jessica (Del), Douglas (Jennifer), Ralph, April, Ashley, Kimberly (Zach), Matthew, Caitlyn, TJ (Beatriz), Nicholas, Jessica, and Louis, III, her “Guy” who preceded her to heaven; eight Great-Grandchildren; brother Lawrence (Ellen) Hansen; sisters Pauline (Frank) Wilson, Barbara (Tony) Mastromauro, and Mary (Dave) Williams; sister-in-law Carmen Hansen; her best friend, partner-in-crime Alberta Hansen; many nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as the vast number of people whose lives were touched by Alice and referred to her as Grandma, Mom, Mrs. C, and the Mayor of Washington Avenue. Along with her husband and grandson, Alice is predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Harold, and Fredrick and her sister Patricia.
Alice was born and raised in New Rochelle, NY. She married the love of her life and raised their three children in New Rochelle. She devoted her life to her family. She was her sons’ and daughters’ scout leaders, she volunteered many years at the schools for both her children and her grandchildren, together with her husband she was an avid square dancer with the Pelham Promenaders, and she loved to bake— especially her specialty cakes and her famous chocolate chip cookies. Alice’s most special joy was being with her grandchildren. She had a special nick-name for each of them.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Funeral Home, 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle, between 4:00-8:00pm. Funeral Service will be Friday at 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Kensico Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her children are asking to make a donation in her name to either the Alzheimer’s Association or to United Cerebral Palsy of Westchester County
