Rosario S. McDonnell, both a warm, caring mother and amicable neighbor of New Rochelle, passed away on July 11th, 2017.
Rosario was born on September 30th, 1956 in Lima, Peru. She spent the majority of her professional career committing herself to her work as a Teacher’s Aide throughout the City School District of New Rochelle. Her hard work and dedication to her position matched her strong willed, yet kind and considerate personality. Over the years her amicable character transcended, going above and beyond, leading to the start of many lifetime friendships to be molded. As a mother, she never ceased to pour out an endless amount of love, care and support upon her children. Her vibrant being illuminated and touched the lives of all the loved ones and friends that surrounded her.
She is survived by her husband Michael H. McDonnell Jr.; and her sons Brian, Kenneth, and Tranquillo McDonnell. She was preceded by Ruben Salas and Pia Graciela Ramos. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Sunday, July 16 from 11am-1 pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A Mass is scheduled on Monday, July 17th at 10:30 am at Holy Family Church. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to The Leukemia Society.
