John Cioffari

John Cioffari, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died on May 26, 2017. He was 98.
John was born on May 11, 1919 in New Rochelle to the late Frank and Frances (Salvante) Cioffari. John proudly served in the US Army during WWII. Sent to Europe with the 42nd Rainbow Division, he participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He worked for many years as an office manager at Neptune Furniture in New Rochelle.
John was predeceased by his beloved wife, the former Norma Silo, who he married on September 26, 1948 and his sister Anne Grube. He is survived by his daughter Lynne McCann and her husband Barry; his son John Jr. and his wife Elayne; 2 grandchildren Brian McCann (Cristina) and Bridget Masters (Scott ); his 3 great-grandchildren Lily, Evan and Brandon; his sister Rose Perrotta, sister-in-law Carmel Valenti and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting will be Wednesday 4-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A Mass is scheduled for Thursday 10:30am at St. Gabriel’s Church. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
