John F. Wojciechowski, a longtime resident of New Rochelle and former resident of Yonkers, died on April 4, 2017. He was 80. John was born on April 16, 1936 in Yonkers to the late Frank and Kathryn (Kopec) Wojciechowski. He was a Comptroller for many years at various nonprofit organizations and was a former Auditor for Otis Elevator. He was an Army Veteran and a graduate of Iona College.
He is survived by his niece Susan Wojciechowski-Bechtold and her husband Jim, his nephew Peter Wojciechowski and his wife Diane; his great niece Michelle Bechtold and his great nephew Mathew Bechtold. He was predeceased by his brothers Edward and Roman. As the youngest, his family lovingly called him Jaś or Jasiu, an endearing polish name for young boys named John.
He was a beloved man, who enjoyed traveling and this time last year was visiting Hawaii with his dear friend Nancy Sauer. He was a scrabble enthusiast, enjoyed playing golf, spending time with friends and would often be found lending a hand helping others. Visitation will be on Tuesday April 11th from 2 to 4pm & 7 to 9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle, NY. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday April 12th at 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will be private.
