Frank Fato, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on January 23, 2017. He was 76. Mr. Fato was born in San Fili, Cosenza, Italy. Raised in poverty, he came to America seeking a better life for him and his family. He served as a Captain in the US Army and eventually earned a PhD. He was a Professor at SUNY Westchester Community College for 45 years. He enjoyed gardening, painting, reading, watching soccer, teaching and spending time with his family.
Visiting will be on Thursday from 4-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, Inc., 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle. A Mass is scheduled for Friday 9:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Chester, NY.
