CARMELINA ALVAREZ

Carmelina Alvarez passed into eternal rest on Friday, December 23, 2016. She was born in Havana, Cuba, to Dolores Lopez and Emilio Alvarez on February 6, 1926. Following her mother’s death in 1927, Carmelina returned to Spain with her family. In August 1949, Carmelina and her father and stepmother moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. There she met and married Manuel Lozano from Spain. Their daughter, Maria Dolores, was born in 1960. She lived in Buenos Aires until 2011 when she moved to the United States with her husband to be near their daughter.

Carmelina was very artistic. She studied Fashion Design in Spain and delighted in creating new pieces. She also enjoyed the joy of being a homemaker.

She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was predeceased by her mother, Dolores Lopez; her father, Emilio Alvarez; and her brother, Juan Manuel Alvarez. She is survived by her husband, Manuel Lozano; her daughter, Maria Dolores Lozano-Loncon, and her granddaughter, Noelia Loncon.

CARMELINA ÁLVAREZ

Carmelina Álvarez pasó a descanso eterno el viernes, 23 de diciembre, 2016. Nació en La Habana, Cuba, hija de Dolores López y Emilio Álvarez, el 6 de febrero, 1926. Después de la muerte de su madre en 1927, Carmelina regresó a España con su familia. En agosto 1949, Carmelina y su padre y madrastra se mudaron a Buenos Aires, Argentina. Allí conoció y se casó con Manuel Lozano, de España. Su hija, María Dolores, nació en 1960. Residió en Buenos Aires hasta 2011 cuando se trasladó a los Estados Unidos para estar cerca de su hija.

Carmelina era muy artística. Estudió Diseño de Moda en España y se alegraba de crear nuevas piezas. También gozaba de la alegría de ser ama de casa.

Fue querida hija, esposa, madre y abuela. La precedieron en la muerte su madre, Dolores López; su padre, Emilio Álvarez, y su hermano, Juan Manuel Álvarez. La sobreviven su esposo, Manuel Lozano; su hija, María Dolores Lozano-Loncón, y su nieta, Noelia Loncón.
