Fred Tavano, a resident of New Rochelle, died on November 13, 2016. He was 82.
Fred was born on July 20, 1934 in the Bronx to the late Sam and Felicia (Cardillo) Tavano.
Fred worked for over 40 years as a Railroad Conductor for Metro North. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Fred was an avid hunter who enjoyed spending much time at his home upstate with his grandson.
In addition to his wife, the former JoAnne Paino whom he married on November 11, 1962, Fred is survived by his son Stephen Tavano and his wife Robin; his grandson Joseph Carcia and his sister Dolores Green and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Phyllis Tavano.
Visiting will be Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday 9:30am at Holy Name Church. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
