Nancy Kotonias

Nancy Kotonias, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died unexpectedly following a very brief illness on August 17, 2016, surrounded by friends and loved ones. Nancy was born on May 13, 1954 in Bethesda, Maryland, to Mary Alice Dean Kotonias and Andrew J. Kotonias. She graduated from the Ursuline Academy in Bethesda and in 1976 from The College of New Rochelle.

Nancy was employed for 22 years by the Lillian Vernon Corporation, where she held several positions of increasing responsibility in merchandise analysis, planning, placement and pricing. A key member of that organization, she provided the CEO and senior executives with critical product and catalog information, and when the corporation moved its operations from Westchester County, Nancy brought her considerable expertise in database administration, product development and data analysis to executive positions at the Academic Federal Credit Union and to CNR, her alma mater, as the Director of Institutional Research.

To all who knew and loved her, Nancy was brilliant, witty, insightful, loyal, and generous. She was a proud alumna of the College, and she treasured her family (especially her niece and nephew), and her many friends. She loved music, books, and her beloved Redskins.

Nancy was predeceased by her father in 1999, and she is survived by her loving mother, her brother Andrew James (Jim), his wife Angela, and her niece and nephew, Jennifer and Nick Kotonias.

Nancy’s life will be celebrated with a mass of Christian burial, to be held in the Holy Family Chapel at The College of New Rochelle on Wednesday, August 24, at 4pm, followed by a reception in the Castle parlors. Interment will be private. There will be a memorial mass in Nancy’s memory at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Bethesda, Maryland, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The Sr. Dorothy Ann Kelly, O.S.U. Scholarship Fund at The College of New Rochelle (c/o College Advancement), 29 Castle Place, New Rochelle, NY, 10805, or to the Ursuline Sisters Retirement Fund, 1338 North Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10804.
