Doris M. Efferen, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on July 25, 2016. She was 85.
Doris was born on June 20, 1931 in Yonkers to the late Thomas and Marion Gregson. She dedicated her life to her husband and 5 children. She also worked as a salesperson at Macy’s in New Rochelle for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Joseph M. Efferen, Sr.; her children Joseph M. (Deborah) Efferen, Jr., John Efferen (Staff Sergeant, USMC, Retired), Dr. Linda (Christopher Deeg PhD) Efferen, Robert (Debra) Efferen and Ann Marie (Howard) Russo; her 9 grandchildren; her 2 great grandchildren; her brothers Thomas and Joseph Gregson; and her sisters Marion Sipos, Beverly Mautte and Carol Rios.
Visiting will be Thursday and Friday 4-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc. 16 Shea Pl., New Rochelle, NY 10805 where a service will take place on Saturday morning 11am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
