Anthony F. Blanco

Anthony F. Blanco, a resident of Yonkers, died on August 1, 2015. He was 64. Anthony was born on February 8, 1951 in New Rochelle to the late Frank Blanco and Anne Montanaro. He attended Blessed Sacrament Grammar School and High School.
Encouraged by his brother-in-law, Bruce Snyder, Anthony pursued a career as a operating systems specialist. He worked for the City of Yonkers and retired from the Yonkers Board of Education.
He is survived by his sisters Geri Baron and Lorraine Snyder (Bruce), his nieces Cindy Gencarelli (Paul) and Jessica Warner (Peter) and many great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Carol Neher and nephews Eric and Jeffrey Neher and Dougie Baron.
Anthony, known to his friends as Tony, was an incredible person. In a gentle quiet way, he touched the lives of many people. He stepped in as a father for his nieces and nephews and his “almost daughter” Amy Ragone. He would do anything for his family including his sisters who he helped through many tragedies. His deep, long lasting friendships were important to him. Anthony was someone you could always depend on.
His illness was unexpected and rapidly severe but he fought hard. The loss of Anthony will leave an empty space in our lives. He will be missed beyond words.
Visiting Thursday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beachamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl. New Rochelle. Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church, New Rochelle. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
