Charles Heppes, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died on June 1, 2015. He was 84.
Charles was born on February 14, 1931 in New Rochelle to the late Charles and Kathryn (Stubing) Heppes.
He was a retired New Rochelle Police Officer having worked for the department for over 23 years where he served on the PBA Board. He was a veteran having served in the Navy during the Korean War.
He was predeceased by the love of his life the former Joan Murphy whom he married on October 20, 1956. She died on July 14, 2014. He is survived by his sons Kevin (Kathy) Heppes and Brian Heppes; his daughter Ellen (Andy) Stievfvater; his five granddaughters; Sarah, Cubby, Maggie, Lauren and Leann; his sister Andrea Speigler; his sister-in-law Ann Rich and his brother–in –law Mathew Murphy. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by one brother and 5 sisters and several brothers and sisters-in law. Charlie had a love for life and a sense of humor that will be missed by all his family and friends who were lucky enough to enjoy his company.
Visiting will be Friday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday 9:30am at Holy Name Church. Interment will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Butterflies from Jodie.
