John P. Moriarty, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on February 24, 2015. He was 90.
John was born on February 20, 1925 in Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ireland to the late John and Catherine (Lehane) Moriarty. He was a truck mechanic who formerly worked for the Village of Larchmont and before that, for Neptune Worldwide Movers.
He is survived by his wife the former Christine O’ Connor whom he married in June of 1954; his children John (Kate) Moriarty, Christine (Jeff) Halley and Tom (Halyley May) Moriarty; his daughter-in-law Karen; his 7 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and his sister Breda Murphy in Ireland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews in Ireland, England and Australia.
Visiting Thursday 2-4 and 6-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday 9:30am at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choice.
