Charles J. Damore, age 74, of New Rochelle, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2014. Charles was born on January 2, 1940 in New Rochelle. He was the only child of the late Charles and Constance Damore. Charles graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Mercy College. As a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Charles received the rank of Master Sergeant while having served over 35 years. He retired from the New Rochelle Post Office after 36 years of service and worked for the New Rochelle school district for 25 years. Charles was currently employed by First Student Bus Company in Mt.Vernon, NY. Survivors include his loving wife Madeline, with whom he shared his life for over 44 years since May 17, 1970; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Mark DiForio; son and daughter-in-law John and Maria Damore; son Jason Damore; grandchildren Ariana & Preston Damore; niece Jennifer Capparelli; niece and husband Gina & Steven Troll, and their children Elizabeth, Andrew & Steven John. He will also be missed by his faithful canine companion, Maggie-Mae.
Visiting will be Tuesday 4-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, Inc., 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle, NY. Mass will be Wednesday 9:30am at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery.
