Angelina A. Granucci

Angelina A. Granucci passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the Providence Rest Nursing Home in the Bronx, New York where she was cared for attentively over the past two years.
Angie was born to Joseph and Jenny (Merlino) Naro on August 29, 1926 in the Bronx. She attended Christopher Columbus High School where she met her future husband. She married Robert (Bob) Granucci in May 1947. He predeceased her in March, 1967.
For many years she lived in the house in which she was born in the Allerton Ave. section of the Bronx. She was a member of St. Lucy’s Parish and active in the parish school from its inception. She was also an active member of the senior center at St. Clair’s Church. Besides being a homemaker, she worked alongside her parents and sister for many years in the family’s dress contacting business, J. A. Naro Dress Co. Inc. After retirement she moved to East Meadow, NY and subsequently to New Rochelle, NY to be close to her son and his family in Westchester.
She is survived by her son Joseph and his wife Jody, of New Rochelle. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert (Leah) Granucci of Tuckahoe, Jennifer (Jesse) Parker of Pelham Manor, and Andrea Granucci of Mount Vernon. Angie was blessed with six great-grandchildren Abigail, Joseph, Olivia, Andrew, Miles and Emilia. Each of them brought joy to her heart and a smile to her face. She is also survived by her brother Frank Naro and his wife Lee of Rockville Centre, NY and her sister Josephine Staiano of East Meadow, NY.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday 10:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Pelham Manor NY. Interment will follow at Saint Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Providence Rest Nursing Home, 3304 Waterbury Avenue, Bronx New York 10465 in memory of Angelina A. Granucci.
