Anne C. Bonomo, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle passed away peacefully on June 16, 2014. She was 98.
Anne was born on March 14, 1916 in New Rochelle to the late Giuseppe and Anna Cestone.
Anne was the beloved wife of Louis J. Bonomo for 63 years before he predeceased her in 2004. She was blessed with two loving sons, Louis and James (Nancy).She also has two loving grandchildren, Melia and Matthew. She also has surviving nieces, Jeanna Lindsay, Anne Cooper and Rosanne Seward and nephews Joseph (Debbie) Cestone and Joseph (JoJo) Cestone as well as great nieces and great nephews.
Anne was an avid bowler until shortly before her death and liked being known as the “Spare Queen”. Anne worked as executive secretary for many years at Arnold Constable in New Rochelle and then at the Feeney Park Boys’ Club of New Rochelle where she served as president of their Women’s Auxiliary and was elected into their Hall of Fame. She was a great cook and was famous for her delicious apple pie. She will be missed by all those who loved her.
Visiting will be Friday4-8 pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. Mass is scheduled for Saturday 10am at St. Joseph’s Church. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Meals-on-Wheels in New Rochelle.
