Rudolph “Rudy” Boettigheimer. A longtime resident of New Rochelle died on January 6, 2014. He was 94. Rudolph was born on March 13, 1919 in New Brunswick, NJ to the late Rudolph and Eleanore Dunn Boettigheimer. He was a retired Salesman of fine furniture for over 30 years for the George Fennell & Co. in Mt. Vernon. He served in the Army during WWII in C Battery, 327 Field Artillery, 84th Infantry Division and was awarded the Bronze Star for military operations as a field artillery forward observer. He took part in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the American Legion Post 8 and attended 25 years of Army “Rail Splitter” reunions. He is survived by his loving wife Kathleen whom he married on September 21, 1947; his six children: Kathleen deMaCarty, David (Roseann Consolo) , Thomas (Beth Danzig) , Stephen (Debora Jablonka) , James (Margaret Rosenzweig) and Barbra (John) Leone; his 14 cherished grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and his two brothers Robert and Bernard Boettigheimer.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday 4-8 PM at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel 16 Shea Place New Rochelle, NY. A funeral mass is scheduled for Thursday 10:30 AM at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY.
